If I could go back in time and start my career over, I would probably focus on being an environmental scientist or ecologist. I always had a love for science but my life path went in other directions. I never thought I could be of any value to the planet until I heard two words – Citizen Scientist. I found out anyone could become a citizen scientist as long you were a science lover. I watched Mary Ellen Hannibal’s TED Talk December 2019, “How you can help save the Monarch Butterfly – and the Planet.” She said Monarch butterflies are dying at an alarming rate which could put human life at risk. But we have just the thing to help save Monarch Butterflies: citizen scientists.
